Étoile Automne

A terrified village gathers beneath a sky torn open by radiant streaks, as countless stars and meteors plunge toward the earth. Figures raise their hands, fall to the ground, and look upward in dread while cabins and trees stand beneath the overwhelming celestial sign. The composition evokes the apocalyptic language of Revelation, where the heavens are shaken and “the stars of the sky fell to the earth,” as well as Christ’s prophecy that the stars will fall before the coming of the Son of Man. The scene is suited for teaching on end-times prophecy, divine judgment, the Day of the Lord, repentance, and the awe of creation under God’s sovereign power.
